About us

“Our purpose is to provide a focus to enable the people of Rotherham to obtain sympathetic advice, information and services relating to crime and disorder problems”

Rotherham Community Safety & Advice Centre is a registered charity working to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the Rotherham Borough.

Rotherham Community Safety & Advice Centre delivers crime prevention advice and services to the general public through a ‘one-stop-shop’ facility in the Town centre and a range of outreach services across the Borough.

Rotherham Community Safety & Advice Centre was founded in 1998 under the name ‘Out of the Blue’. The Centre was the inspiration of a former South Yorkshire Police Crime Reduction Officer who saw a gap in mainstream provision of advice information and not-for-profit sale of security devices in order to tackle crime and disorder across the Borough.

The Organisation took the name ‘Rotherham Community Safety & Advice Centre’ on becoming a Company Limited by Guarantee and Registered Charity. The Organisation is run by a Steering Committee comprising of four Charity Trustees and several members with strategic local expertise. A staff force of three is currently employed to manage and oversee the day-to-day running of the Centre. A team of trained volunteers deliver the advice to the general public through the Centre and support the delivery of ‘outreach’ advice services across the Borough.

We are currently funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the Safer Rotherham Partnership.
